The Challenge

With the opportunity to reach a number of markets, the fund has the challenge of scaling as a team and building their own corporate structure. Working in a regulated industry, the team also faces regulatory and compliance hurdles requiring licenses and a cross-border setup.

Regulatory guidance

Our team provided an overview of the crypto legislation of European & exotic countries, guidance on country choice, and service classification.

Corporate setup

We assisted with the team’s cross-border corporate setup (one-stop-shop) and establishing an experienced investors’ fund with help of local lawyers.

Advisory

As a fund with a number of facets, our Crypto desk advised on matters including marketing the fund in countries other than the domestic country, entering the stock exchange, and obtaining ISIN in Switzerland for the fund to become a bankable asset.

Scaling

As we have been with the fund since they were a small team of five, we have assisted them in growing their team to around 100. A larger team presented different challenges, including formalizing internal processes. This scaling also included the corporate structure – we prepared the internal processes for the business to scale from one to five entities.

Representing the fund in negotiations with over 20 leverage providers and financial counterparties.
